Insight

For many individuals, the phrase ‘tiny houses’ may conjure images of compact, simplistic living spaces, which indeed is sometimes the case. However, these diminutive dwellings can also encapsulate unexpected luxuries, as demonstrated by the newest offering from MitchCraft Tiny Homes.

This model presents an expansive interior design, incorporating some of the conveniences traditionally associated with larger, conventional homes, such as a dishwasher and a bath.

The CC 31′ x 10′ (or 9.4 x 3 m for those partial to metric measurements), exceeds the typical 8.5 ft (2.5 m) width of standard tiny houses, implying a towing permit would be required for road transport. This may not seem significant, but the additional space markedly enhances the indoor environment.

Boasting an interior of 310 sq ft (28 sq m), the layout revolves around a bright, commodious kitchen. On entering through the double glass doors, guests encounter a fridge/freezer, an oven with a four-burner propane stove, a dishwasher, and an abundance of cabinetry and storage space. Extensive glazing, including skylights, ensures the penetration of ample daylight.

In close proximity is the living room, which appears generously spacious. It boasts an L-shaped seating arrangement with additional storage concealed beneath and adjacent to the seating. A mini-split air-conditioning system, paired with ceiling fans, maintains a pleasant indoor temperature.

Opposite the kitchen, a hallway provides more storage and leads to the bathroom, featuring a unique horse trough-style bathtub and shower, a vanity sink, and a traditional flushing toilet.

The solitary bedroom in the CC 31′ x 10′ is accessible via a storage-integrated staircase. This area houses a spacious wardrobe, sufficient headroom for standing, and separate washing and drying machines. Positioned adjacently and slightly elevated, the sleeping area is complete with a double bed and some storage.

This layout inevitably results in a low ceiling, a characteristic feature of tiny house living.
