The project is distinctive, featuring two curving buildings connected by a rooftop glass-bottom pool, a design meant to inspire residents who are not afraid of heights.

The design proposal, termed 8777 Collins Avenue, is rather intricate as ZHA has proposed two potential designs. Both are similar, with the primary difference lying in the exterior shape:

one has a sloping exterior, while the other boasts a more uniform structure. These high-rise condominiums mirror each other, each showcasing a complex curving exterior inspired by the rhythmic ebb and flow of the neighbouring ocean. This ingenious design not only creates scenic balcony spaces but also ensures privacy for the residents.

Sky bridges further connect the two structures, along with the glass-bottomed pool, a feature likely more suited to the tropical Miami climate than to London’s Sky Pool. Each of the buildings spans 12 floors, offering 57 varied-sized residences. According to the project developer, Damac International, the design emphasises on maximising natural light and views.

The condominiums transition seamlessly from indoors to outdoors with generous balconies, capitalising on Miami’s pleasant weather and ocean breezes.

With sizes ranging from 4,000 to 15,000 square feet, the condominiums cater to a variety of living experiences. The community will enjoy a 100-foot rooftop pool, offering a direct view of Downtown, as well as a 75-foot indoor exercise pool. As of now, more details, especially about potential sustainability features, are yet to be disclosed.

The project is in the process of seeking planning approval. It’s worth noting that the site was previously home to a residential building which collapsed tragically in 2021, claiming 98 lives.
