As 2019 winds down, I’ve been talking with a lot of clients and one thing that everyone (including me) has in common is that we’re coming in hot.
The end of year cram down to get stuff done before the holiday break begins has felt crazier than ever. And, then, in a couple of weeks, we’ll wipe the slate clean and start pursuing the goals of 2020.
Here’s some advice (for myself as much as anyone) before you dive into next year. Over the holidays, quit thinking so much. At least quit thinking about what you’ve accomplished and what you need to accomplish. Give yourself the gift of unconscious thought.
Unconscious thought kind of sounds like an oxymoron doesn’t it? Is there even such a thing? Yes, there is. As I wrote about a few years ago, the research demonstrates it.
And, if you stop and think about it, your real-life experience demonstrates it. For instance, consider where or when you get your best ideas.
