1. Application Process

a) Download the CPI Application Form

The form can be downloaded from our official website.

b) Accurate Completion

Ensure all information provided on the form is accurate and complete.

c) Academic Credential

Fill out the application form, attach your academic credential  and submit them to info@gcoportal.com

d) Typed Submissions Only

All application forms must be typed. Handwritten forms will not be accepted.

 

2. Payment Terms

a) Confirmation and Payment

You may proceed with the payment only after receiving a confirmation email.

b) Payment Options

Fees can be paid via bank transfer or PayPal. Account details will be provided in the confirmation email.

c) Transaction Receipt

Email a copy of your payment receipt to info@gcoportal.com. Registration is only confirmed once the transaction receipt is received.

 

3. Cancellation & Refund Policy

At Global Construction Online Academy, we strive to offer clarity and fairness in our refund and cancellation policy for live online courses. Please review the following terms:

a) Refund Policy

     1) Full Refund

Cancel at least 7 days before the course for a full refund.

     2) Partial Refund

Cancel within 7 days before the course for a 50% refund.

     3) No Refund

Cancel after the course starts, no refund is issued.

b) Administrative Fee

No administrative fee will be deducted from the refund.

c) Course Access and Participation

As this is a live course, participation requires punctual attendance. No refunds will be issued for non-attendance, late arrivals, or missed sessions.

d) How to Request a Refund

Refund requests must be submitted in writing via email to [Your Support Email Address, before the course start date. Include your full name, course name, and proof of payment in your request.

e) Compliance with UK Regulations

This policy complies with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges (Regulations 2013 (SI 2013/3134) in relation to live online services. By enrolling in our courses, you acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions.

 

4. Technical Requirements for Participants

Participants are required to have:

a) A computer with a stable internet connection.

b) A functional webcam for live sessions.

c) Basic proficiency in using Microsoft Teams to facilitate seamless participation.

d)  Familiarity with Moodle for accessing course materials and quizzes would be desirable.

 

5. Participation

5.1. Attendance Requirements:

a) Attendance is monitored for each module. Missing more than one full module ( 1day) result in disqualification from receiving a certificate.

b) Partial attendance—for example, arriving late, leaving early, or being inactive during live sessions—will be recorded and may affect your attendance status

 

5.2. Absence and Consequences

a) In the event of unavoidable absence, participants must notify the course coordinator in advance, providing a valid reason.
b) excessive absence without valid justification results in removal from the course and ineligibility for certification. Course fees will not be refunded under such circumstances.

5.3. Missed Sessions and Retake Policy:

a) Students who provide an acceptable reason for their absence may, at the provider’s discretion, be offered the opportunity to repeat the course at a discounted rate, subject to availability and prior approval.

b) Requests to retake the course due to exceptional circumstances must be submitted in writing and accompanied by appropriate supporting documentation…

c) Approval of retake requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis and is not guaranteed.

5.4. Commitment to Learning:

a) All participants are expected to treat attendance with the same seriousness as an in-person course.

b) Repeated absences or disruptive behaviour may be reported to the course director and may impact eligibility for future enrolments.

5.5. Privacy and Terms of Use

By participating in this course, you agree to:

a) Not record, screenshot, or share any content from classes.

b) Respect the privacy and intellectual property rights of others.

c) Refrain from distributing course materials without permission.

d) Abide by all copyright and academic integrity policies.

5.6. Final Examination

5.6.1. Booking Procedure

After completing all course modules and submitting three technical reflection papers, students may book a time for the final examination. They must select a preferred date and time and notify the Course Coordinator at least one week in advance. Upon approval, students will be permitted to log in to their Moodle account and sit the exam.

5.6.2. Examination Format

The final examination comprises 50 multiple-choice questions, each with a single correct answer. Candidates must complete the test within a 60-minute time limit. To pass, students must correctly answer at least 35 questions, achieving a minimum score of 70%.

5.6.3. Reattempts

tudents are permitted up to three attempts at the final examination without charge. If a fourth attempt is required, a re-examination fee of £35 will apply. No further attempts will be allowed beyond the fourth. Each attempt must be scheduled with a minimum interval of seven days; shorter intervals are not permitted.

5.6.4. Re-enrolment

Students who do not pass the exam after four attempts must re-enrol in the course to gain another opportunity to sit the final exam. Re-enrolment is offered at a discounted rate of 50% of the original course fee.

 

6. Certification

6.1. Certification Eligibility

Only participants who pass the final examination and meet all other certification criteria will be awarded the CPI certificate. Successful participants will be recognised as Certified Concrete Placement Inspectors.

6.2. Certification Criteria

To be eligible for certification, participants must fulfil all of the following requirements:

a) Attendance:

Participants must attend all six modules in full, or at a minimum five out of six sessions. Failure to meet this requirement may result in disqualification from receiving the certificate.

b) Coursework Completion:

Participants must complete all quizzes assigned throughout the course by the specified deadlines; this also includes submission of three technical reflection papers during the course. The topics for these papers will be determined by the course instructors, and their submission forms part of the course completion criteria. Late submissions may result in reduced marks or impact eligibility for certification.

 

7. Certificate Issuance

a) Certificates will be issued within seven working days following successful completion of the final examination.

b) Each certificate will include the participant’s full name, course title, completion date and certification number,

c) Participants who complete the course successfully will have their names listed on gcoportal.com as official Certified Concrete Placement Inspectors.

 

8. Privacy and Confidentiality

a) Data Protection

All personal data is handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations. As GCO is a registered member of the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), we are committed to upholding the highest standards of data privacy, confidentiality, and security.

b) Use of Personal Information

Participant information will be used solely for purposes directly related to the course, such as registration, communication, and certification. It will not be shared with third parties without prior consent.

 

9. Feedback and Continuous Improvement

1. Feedback Collection

Regular feedback will be solicited from participants to improve the course.

2. Post-Course Evaluation

Participants will be asked to complete a comprehensive survey at the end of the course for continuous quality enhancement.
