How to Build a Tourist Destination on the Red Sea

Drone technology and innovative construction techniques are being deployed to deliver an ambitious tourist destination covering 28,000km2 of Saudi Arabia’s west coast.

The location of the Red Sea Project features mountain canyons, dormant volcanoes, ancient heritage sites and more than 90 islands. Phase 1 of the development will include hotels, residential properties, leisure, commercial and entertainment amenities and a new airport.

Along with providing a photographic record of the entire project, The Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC) has used drones and hi-tech survey equipment to inform the positioning of over water assets. These assets include villas, restaurants and hotel arrival points for two hyper-luxury hotels and one luxury hotel on Sheybarah South and Ummahat Al Shaykh islands.
